Start your day early and drive to the Western Province. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by knowledgeable local guides; who will introduce you to the history and significance of coffee in Rwanda. The tour usually begins with a visit to the coffee farms, where you’ll have the opportunity to see the lush coffee plants and learn about the different varieties grown in the area. The guide will explain the cultivation process, including planting, pruning and harvesting techniques. After the farm visit, you'll be taken to the processing area where the coffee cherries are transformed into green coffee beans. The guides will demonstrate the traditional methods used for pulping, fermenting, washing, and drying the beans. You can even get hands-on experience and try your hand at some of the steps. Then, sample different coffee varieties produced by local farmers. After completing this trip, enjoy a delicious meal before driving back to Kigali. END OF THE TOUR !
