Ikaze Rwanda Tours & Travel was founded by a passionate entrepreneur with a long-term dream of running a fully-fledged tourism business entity. The owner was motivated by his own industry experience, having been in the tourism and hospitality industry for over five years. He worked as an office coordinator in a private tour firm, hotel receptionist, destination tour guide, and later a tour consultant.
The Rwandan culture advises us to always care for our visitors, ensuring they are well treated and feel at home, even though they are far away from their own homes. The company’s name says a lot, and actually defines our day-to-day operations: In our local language ‘Kinyarwanda’, Ikaze means ‘Welcome’. This is a frequent and opening word addressed to visitors when coming to our households, workplaces, or going a bit further; when welcoming the bride family during our traditional wedding ceremony.
