Meet and greet with our driver and guide from your residence hotel and after a short briefing, drive to the South East of Kigali, Bugesera region. The drive is smooth and relaxing on a flat highway; which is uncommon given the criss-cross steep road that characterizes much of the country. You will also hear the dark history particular to this region from both pre/post 1994 Genocide period, while at the same time witnessing the remarkable journey of transformation happening in Rwanda at the moment.
Upon arrival in Gashora, spend your morning in a local community, learning about their traditional ways of life. Take a walk through the surrounding countryside, meet school going children, visit a farm and a local market. If time allows, help with chores like fetching water, collecting firewood, tending to the crops, cooking traditional Rwandan dishes and then savoring on a delicious meal with your hosts. This is a truly unique opportunity to experience the typical life of a Rwandan.
