The tour includes airport transfers, accommodation and meals listed in the itinerary, a Uganda gorilla trekking permit, park entrance fees, a Lake Bunyonyi boat cruise, ground transport in a 4x4 vehicle, an English-speaking driver-guide, drinking water and the scheduled cultural and wildlife activities.

International flights, visa fees, travel insurance, tips, personal expenses and meals or drinks not listed in the itinerary are excluded.

The first day includes arrival and an overnight stay in Kigali. On day two, travellers drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and take part in a Batwa cultural experience.

Day three is dedicated to mountain gorilla trekking from the Rushaga park reception area, followed by a transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. On the final day, guests enjoy a boat ride and island visit before travelling back to Kigali for departure.

Gorilla trekking requires moderate physical fitness and may involve steep slopes, muddy paths and dense vegetation. Uganda Wildlife Authority advises that a trek can take approximately two to seven hours, depending on the gorillas’ location and forest conditions.

Once a habituated gorilla family is found, visitors normally receive one managed hour to observe the gorillas while following their ranger’s instructions.

The scheduled Lake Bunyonyi activities after gorilla trekking include a scenic boat ride and an island visit. These provide time to relax, photograph the surrounding hills and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere after the physically active forest trek.

Depending on available time and itinerary customisation, visitors may also request canoeing, birdwatching, community visits or guided walks around the lake and nearby highlands.

Yes. Uganda gorilla trekking permits and national park entrance fees are included in our packages. Gorilla permits are issued for a particular trekking date on a first come,first serve basis, so confirming the trekking  well in advance is recommended.

Uganda Wildlife Authority’s current gorilla-tracking guidelines state that visitors must be at least 15 years old. Travellers should also inform Ikaze Rwanda Tours & Travel about medical conditions or mobility concerns before booking.

A standard Uganda gorilla trekking permit costs US$800 per person for foreign non-residents. The permit allows visitors to trek a habituated mountain gorilla family and spend up to one hour observing the gorillas after they are located. A Gorilla Habituation Experience permit in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park costs US$1,500 per person. The fees include the ranger guide, park entry for the day and a community development contribution. Permits are limited and should be reserved well in advance.
