The package includes hotel pickup and drop-off, park entry fees, the canopy-walk permit, private transport, fuel, a driver-guide, lunch, bottled water and local handling charges. Personal expenses, insurance, gratuities and unlisted meals or drinks are excluded.

The guided canopy-walk experience takes around two hours, including the forest hike to the walkway. The trail is manageable for active travellers but can be steep, muddy and slippery after rain.

Nyungwe is sometimes described as “Africa’s longest canopy walk,”. The walkway is about 160 metres long and 70 metres high, making it one of Africa’s most impressive rainforest canopy walks.

Visitors may see butterflies, orchids, forest birds and occasionally monkeys. Nyungwe is home to 13 primate species, although wildlife sightings are not guaranteed and dedicated tracking tours are recommended for chimpanzees and other primates.
