The Uganda Gorilla Tour from Kigali is a 6-day tour package that starts and ends in Rwanda. The tour is designed to give you a thrilling experience of Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and the exceptional gorilla tour and golden monkey experience in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Transfer to Parc Des Volcans

On the first day of the Uganda Gorilla Tour from Kigali, you will arrive at Kigali International Airport and meet your driver guide. You will receive a briefing on the tour highlights, transfer to Kigali City centre for a brief city tour, have lunch in Kigali, embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, check in to your lodge in Musanze, visit the nearby communities for local interaction with the Rwandan people, and have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

On the second day, after breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. You will then divide into groups of 8 people based on physical fitness and gorilla group of interest. You will start the trek to search for gorillas in the mist-shrouded volcanoes. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour observing them before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking / Dian Fossey Grave

On the third day, you will have the option to go golden monkey tracking or visit the Karisoke Research Center for the Dian Fossey Hike. In the afternoon, you will visit several communities and schools before returning to your previous lodging area for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

On the fourth day, you will wake up to a tasty breakfast. You will then start a journey transfer to Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will arrive in the afternoon and have dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park

You will wake up to a sumptuous breakfast. You will then head to the park headquarters with packed lunch for a briefing on gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will hike into the jungle of the thick impenetrable forests of Bwindi to trek the gorilla group you were assigned at the time of the briefing. Upon finding the gorillas, you will be permitted a maximum of 1 hour to be with the gorillas. The guides will lead you through the whole process and answer your questions. After the trek, you can opt to proceed with a nature walk and forest trail if your physical fitness is still strong. The nature walk will lead you through to the local Batwa community where you will visit and tour the local shops, children's school, cultural communities, and so on. You will then return to the previous lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer Back to Kampala

On the last day of the 6 Days Uganda Gorilla Tour, you will have an early breakfast. You will then bid goodbye to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and drive back to Kigali. You will have lunch in Kigali and then your guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home. We wish you the best of your flight journey back home.
