RURAL LIFE EXPERIENCE TO GISENYI/LAKE KIVU ITINERARY

Meet and greet your driver. Early morning, head to Gisenyi, at the northern shores of Lake Kivu, located at nearly 3-4hours from Kigali. A number of selected en route stops will be made for you to admire the natural beauty of Rwanda’s hilly landscapes. Upon reaching the resort town of Gisenyi, you’ll drive about 20minutes out of town at the starting point of the famous Congo Nile Trail, to meet and interact with local women cooperative initiative for a remote, authentic village experience.

Typical activities include full rural life experience of a local peasant, traditional food making and tasting, handcraft lesson and a participatory traditional dancing class. We strongly advise our guests to purchase locally crafted souvenirs to directly support and empower local artisans. As soon as your experiences come to an end, you’ll bid farewell to your host and late afternoon, return to Kigali. Time permitting, you’ll be driven around the beautiful town of Gisenyi. Drop-off at your residence in Kigali and end of the tour.
