ARRIVAL TO KIGALI, RWANDA (7 Days Platinum Rwanda Expedition Safari)

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, our representative outside customs and immigration hall will meet you. He will then introduce you to your driver guides who will transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. On arrival at the hotel you will check in followed by late dinner.

TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK (7 Days Platinum Rwanda Expedition Safari)

In the morning after breakfast at 09:00 am, visit the Kigali Genocide memorial a permanent memorial to those who fell victim to the 1994 Rwanda genocide. You will drive to Akagera National park; on arrival, you will check in at your lodge. Later this afternoon after lunch, embark on a very scenic and rewarding boat launch on Lake Ihema. The boat cruise on Lake Ihema will reward you with a large number of hippos, huge Nile crocodiles and a variety of bird species. For the bird‑lovers, the majestic African fish eagles and the large concentration of water birds can entertain you. In the marshes, keep an eye out for the Papyrus Gonolek and the often sought–after Shoebill Stork, the Cormorants, and many more.
This evening you will meet your park ranger who will take you on a 2hrs night game drive in search of the big cats. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

FULL DAY AKAGERA GAME DRIVE (7 Days Platinum Rwanda Expedition Safari)

Start your morning game drive with a picnic box from the southern sector heading north. Akagera provides you with the opportunity to view gentle hills blending beautifully with lowland swamps and water bodies. Akagera National park is a home to animals like elephant and buffalo, Giraffe, zebra and more than a dozen types of antelope inhabit the park, most commonly the handsome Chestnut–‐‑coated Impala, but also the diminutive Oribi and secretive Bushbuck, as well as the ungainly and the world’s largest antelope, the statuesque Cape Eland.
You will exit the park through the northern gate and drive back to the lodge. On arrival, you will freshen up for dinner.

TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE FOREST NATIONAL PARK/ CANOPY WALKWAY (7 Days Platinum Rwanda Expedition Safari)

Hanging 60 meters above the forest floor between giant trees and towers, East Africa’s only Canopy Walkway provides a stunning view of the park’s amazing wildlife and nature. ROAD TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK VIA KIBUYE (7 Days Platinum Rwanda Expedition Safari)

After an early breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and begin your drive to Volcanoes National Park. The scenic drive will take you alongside Lake Kivu, with spectacular views of the countryside. You stop for Lunch in Gisenyi and later proceed to Volcanoes National Park. On arrival you will check in and in the afternoon you will be at leisure.

GORILLA TREKKING IN VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK (7 Days Platinum Rwanda Expedition Safari)

Today your day begins with an early – 06:00 am – drive to the Volcanoes National Park offices for Gorilla Trekking briefing that takes place at 7:00 am. You will then start your walk at 8:00 am.

Volcanoes National Park protects the steep slopes of this magnificent mountain range and is the home of the rare mountain gorilla and the rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp, and heath, but the high point will be spending an hour with the remarkably peaceful gorillas despite their size and appearance as they go about their daily life, feeding, playing, resting and raising their young. After your trek, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon you will visit IBYIWACU CULTURAL VILLAGE which’s a changing traditional perception of what constitutes tourism by turning fate into fame through sharing various aspects of rural cultures and livelihoods into tourist attractions and creating income-generating activities for rural poor people that have lived on bush meat, poaching for generations. The village provides tourists experiences beyond wildlife viewing, the people, culture and how they live. The village also gives a chance to the visitors to enjoy the eight different local dances, listen to Gorilla songs, local food preparations, visit the local healer, visit the king’s place and get to hear all the old stories. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

GOLDEN MONKEY TRACKING, TRANSFER TO KIGALI (7 Days Platinum Rwanda Expedition Safari)

Drive to Volcanoes national park at 06:30 am for yet another hike, Golden monkey trekking starts at 08:00 am. There are two habituated groups of Golden Monkey, one group comprises around 80 – 100 members and has its home at the foot of Mt Sabyinyo. As with treks to see the Mountain Gorillas, treks to see the Golden Monkeys take place in the mornings and visitors are permitted to stay for 1 hour with the monkeys.

Lunch and transfer from volcanoes to Kigali for your departure flight back home.
